Corbett Creek is proud to have bred Sully and 5 other N.E.A.D.S dogs! Sully is on the front page of N.E.A.D.S webpage.
Currently we have six dogs at different levels in training: Mina, Nicki, Sully, Dutch, Jimmy and Dante.
Charitable Work
N.E.A.D.S is an organization that trains, places and entors service dogs for people with disabilities. I myself am a two time cancer survivor so I understand how life can change on a dime. We are very grateful for the work N.E.A.D.S does and are proud to breed dogs that will help enrich someone life. People can donate money, time and materials to this wonderful organization.
Currently, Corbett Creek has six dogs in traiing. Puppies are first tested by Paula. Not all puppies pas this first test. They need to be smart, calm and people oriented. Once they past this first test, they spend six weeks in the N.E.A.D.S training program.
The next step is the Prison Program where incarcerated men and women care for the puppy. This helps them and the puppy. During the weekends they go to weekend foster families who teach more valuable life skills like going out in public.
Mary,
Mina is in our Prison PUP Program at JJ Moran in Cranston, RI. She is learning tasks and obedience from an inmate handler under the direction of a NEADS’ trainer. I have attached a photo taken of Mina at JJ Moran.
Dear Mrs. Corbett,
Kerry Lemerise from NEADS forwarded your address to me so that I could send you some pictures of Nicki. I and my family serve as Nicki's weekend puppy raisers. She's a very smart and sweet dog. We are humbled to participate in the program and honored to be raising such a great pup. She's also quite beautiful. I'm sure you would be very proud of her.
I've selected a few pictures of her 'relaxing' and working (in her vest). The little boy in some of the pictures is my son, Nick (yes, it gets a little confusing around the house; to her credit, Nicki always comes when we call her -- the child is not so well trained).
Enjoy.
Sincerely,
Lita
